BECOME A WESTON RACEMAKER /
Events such as the Weston Super Half could not take place without the support of the our generous Racemakers, who give up their valuable time to help us deliver this community event. Weston Racemakers will play a crucial role in bringing the Super Half to life! Simply by offering a smiley face and plenty of encouragement, as well as important details about the run to those taking part and spectating will make the experience great for so many people.
If you’re interested in getting involved we would love to hear from you.
TYPICAL EVENT RACEMAKERS ROLES /
Course Marshals: There to direct runners along the route, the perfect role for those with a little running experience! You'll direct spectators, make sure that roads remain clear for the runners and feed information back to Event Control.
Sweep Cyclists: There to travel behind the last runner at the back of the race. You'll keep in regular radio communication with Event Control and offer words of encouragement to that last runner!
Race Village Marshal: There to support the runner facilities within the Race Village, including the Help Desk (Race Pack Queries), Volunteer Reception, Stage, etc.
Start/Finish Marshal: There to direct runners into the correct timing pen before the start of the race. You'll also help clear the start/finish line ready for the return of the half marathon runners, as well as helping to put up and remove branding, offering runners encouragement and making sure there is a steady flow of finishers.
Rewards Marshal: There to help set up the rewards area with goodies such as, medals, water etc. You'll also congratulate runners and be the ones to give them their finishers t-shirts, medals, etc.
Information/Arrivals Marshal: There to welcome runners to the event and direct them from the local transport stations, e.g. train, bus etc. towards the Race Village. You'll need to have good local knowledge!
VOLUNTEER GROUPS /
Many of the voluntary roles at the Weston Super Half are perfect for local organisations and larger groups of people.
Each group that volunteers at the event will receive a donation to their organisation.
ROLES IDEAL FOR GROUPS & ORGAISATIONS /
