Date: July 29 May 2020 / 10:00
It is with huge disappointment that we confirm that the 2020 edition of the Howard’s Group Weston Super Half will be postponed from Sunday 13 September 2020. To Sunday 28 March 2021.
Along with the rest of the UK, we have been closely monitoring the escalating Coronavirus situation. Following the most recent government press conference on the matter, we feel that it is only right to put the health of participants, volunteers, supporters and local Weston residents as our top priority and concern. We are therefore postponing the Howard’s Group Weston Super Half to 2021.
We would like to say how sorry we are for the inconvenience, and to thank everyone for your passion, enthusiasm and dedication in the lead up to the event. We know you will be disappointed as we are as it is only with your support and commitment that the Howard’s Group Weston Super Half is able to go ahead. We know how hard you have trained, fundraised, and we know how much you were looking forward to the big day, as participants, volunteers and supporters. As were we. But we know that you will agree that under the current circumstances, it is the right thing to do.
The good news! We have consulted with our partners, Howard’s Group, The Grand Pier, North Somerset Council and many others to secure an alternative date. We are pleased to be able to tell you that the Howard’s Group Weston Super Half will instead take place on Sunday 28 March 2021.
Registrations will re-open for the Howard’s Group Weston Super Half and the Weston Community Mile and we look forward to working with you all to ensure that the 2021 event is still as great a day as it possibly can be. We also encourage you all to spread the word and get others involved – as participants, volunteers or supporters!
Information for runners with a place in the 2020 Howard’s Group Weston Super Half
Please note: the following is for information and no action should be taken by runners at this point.
Every runner with a place in the 2020 Howard’s Group Weston Super Half will be able to use their place in the rescheduled event on Sunday 28 March 2021 without any further payment.
All runners who have a place for the 2020 event and who are unable to take part in the rescheduled event on Sunday 28 March will be able to transfer their entry to another runner. Charity and sponsor places belong to those organisations, rather than the individual runner.
Charities and sponsors with runners who are unable to take part in the postponed race will be able to substitute other runners for the rescheduled date. The event organisers will contact charities and sponsors to outline the process and timescales in due course.
The Weston Community Mile will take place within the rescheduled event and participants with a place will be automatically entered into the rescheduled event.
Please note that runners who have already withdrawn from the 2020 Howard’s Group Weston Super Half will be offered the option to take part on Sunday 28 March 2021.
